Most performance stainless steel/big bore exhausts are heavier than the stock parts, requiring stronger, stiffer mounts to prevent exhaust system fatigue & contact with the underbody
During competition or fast road use engine "rock" and torque reactions are at their greatest. This unwanted engine movement can fatigue (crack) the exhaust system & cause the exhaust to swing around under the car hitting the floor pan/drive train etc. The increased exhaust temperature from high-performance driving can also soften & sag stock rubbers
