The Performance Clutches Stage 3 Sport Clutch Kit (DMF Compatible) is designed for high-output and heavily modified E46 vehicles that retain their factory Dual Mass Flywheel (DMF). It provides substantially increased clamping force and torque capacity, making it suitable for demanding applications where a standard or lower-stage clutch may no longer provide sufficient holding power.
The Stage 3 Sport uses a high-clamp pressure plate to provide strong and consistent power transfer under high torque. This helps minimise clutch slip during hard acceleration and sustained load, making it particularly well suited to high-boost, big-turbo and heavily tuned engines.
The kit features a 6-paddle friction disc, providing a more immediate and assertive engagement than a conventional organic clutch. The performance-focused friction material offers improved heat resistance and consistent engagement during repeated hard use, making the clutch suitable for fast road cars that also see regular track or performance use.
Despite its more aggressive characteristics, the kit is designed to retain the factory DMF. This preserves the flywheel's damping characteristics, helping to reduce drivetrain noise and vibration compared with a solid flywheel conversion while still providing significantly greater clutch capacity.
