The Performance Clutches Stage 4 Sport Single Mass Flywheel Kit is designed for BMW E36 and E46 applications where maximum drivetrain response, reduced rotational mass, and competition-focused clutch performance are the priority. Developed for demanding motorsport use, this setup is suited to drifting, circuit racing, time attack, and heavily modified builds where rapid engine response and direct torque transfer are essential.
At the centre of the kit is a 7.2kg lightweight single mass flywheel, manufactured from 4140 forged steel with an integral ring gear. The high-strength construction provides excellent durability and heat resistance while significantly reducing rotational mass compared with the factory dual-mass setup. The lower inertia allows the engine to rev more quickly, giving sharper throttle response and faster, more precise gear changes.
The clutch assembly features a QT450 steel pressure plate, offering high clamp load and excellent thermal stability during sustained high-temperature and high-load operation. This is paired with a rigid ceramic 6-paddle friction disc, designed without a sprung hub or marcel cushioning to further reduce internal rotational mass and provide more immediate torque transfer.
The ceramic paddle design delivers fast, direct engagement, excellent heat resistance, and strong control under extreme loads. This makes the kit particularly well suited to aggressive launches, clutch kicks, high-RPM driving, and other demanding competition applications where a conventional road clutch may not provide the required level of performance.
