The Performance Clutches Stage 3 Sport Single Mass Flywheel Kit is designed for BMW E36 and E46 applications where high torque capacity, rapid drivetrain response, and motorsport durability are the priority. At the centre of the kit is a 7.2kg lightweight 4140 forged steel single mass flywheel, which significantly reduces rotational inertia compared with the factory dual-mass setup. The lower rotating mass allows the engine to rev more quickly, delivering sharper throttle response, faster acceleration, and quicker gear changes. The integral ring gear and forged construction provide excellent strength and resistance to heat and mechanical stress.
The clutch assembly uses a QT450 steel pressure plate, engineered to maintain consistent clamping force during repeated high-temperature and high-load conditions. This provides the strength needed to handle increased engine torque while reducing the risk of clutch slip during aggressive driving.
The Stage 3 Sport kit is distinguished by its ceramic 6-paddle friction disc, designed specifically for demanding performance applications. The paddle configuration provides fast, direct engagement, high torque capacity, and excellent resistance to heat and clutch slip.
