To ensure no noticeable loss in performance during extended periods of hard driving, AIRTEC has developed a larger, freer-flowing intercooler as a direct replacement for the smaller, more restrictive OEM unit. Designed specifically to fit within the limited space behind the bumper, the intercooler features a wide, short core with a substantial 125mm depth, providing a 140% increase in overall capacity over the original. The increased frontal area maximises airflow for improved cooling efficiency.

The inlet and outlet sizes have also been upgraded, with the inlet increasing from 50mm to 63mm and the outlet from 55mm to 70mm. The original oval O-ring connectors have been replaced with simpler, high-flow silicone connectors to further reduce restriction and improve flow.

Combined with high-flow, moulded one-piece cast end tanks and an internal air diverter to optimise airflow, this intercooler significantly reduces charge temperatures and improves performance. Finished in powder-coated black, the kit comes complete with all fixtures, fittings, and a detailed installation guide for a straightforward, direct-fit upgrade.

Our comprehensive testing highlighted the intercooler’s improved design to cater with long periods of hard use, as seen by the inlet temperature’s consistently low results and improved recovery times in comparison to the OEM intercooler.
