AIRTEC's uprated intercooler upgrade is designed to deliver increased performance by dramatically reducing charge temperatures compared to the factory intercooler, particularly beneficial for remapped or high-power examples.
Featuring a high-flow, single-pass bar-and-plate core that’s 60mm thick, as well as tapered cast end tanks for improved airflow and unbeatable strength, this same specification intercooler has been tested on cars producing up to 540bhp, achieving intake temperatures as low as 38°C. The larger, wider and deeper core design offers a huge increase in both frontal area and overall capacity to maximise cooling efficiency within the limited space behind the bumper.
Despite its increased size, the kit fits neatly behind the original bumper and connects directly to the standard hoses. The Ford grille shutters simply unbolt, with the supplied AIRTEC bracket allowing the original loom to be refitted. The comprehensive kit includes all fixtures, fittings and step-by-step instructions for easy installation, with fitting times typically under two hours.
