Building on the success of the Stage 1 Gen 1 intercooler, this new kit has been developed specifically for Gen 2 models, accommodating both manual and automatic transmissions and integrating seamlessly with the factory water spray bar setup.
To overcome the limitations of the smaller, restrictive OEM intercooler, AIRTEC designed a stepped-core unit that maximises available space behind the bumper, stepping from 110mm to 70mm and offering a 64% increase in capacity and a 30% increase in frontal area compared to the stock unit. This allows for greater cooling efficiency and airflow management.
The 50mm inlet maintains fast turbo response, while the 60mm outlet reduces restriction for smoother, more efficient boost delivery. Combined with high-flow, cast end tanks and an internal air diverter, this design ensures charge air is evenly distributed through the core for optimal performance.
Despite its increased size and cooling capacity, the intercooler fits perfectly behind the original bumper with no trimming or cutting required, and can be fully reverted to standard if needed. The kit comes complete with Pro Hoses silicone connectors, all fixtures and fittings, a mounting bracket for the water spray bar, and detailed installation instructions.
